Addressing the pedagogical challenges of producing the next generation of secondary mathematics and science pre-service teachers
We are all doing some fantastic work with our students but we rarely get the opportunity to share our initiatives and challenges.
We want this forum to bring together colleagues across universities to discuss what we are striving for in secondary science and mathematics education. We are setting aside time to share ideas and resources and to plan how we will collaboratively respond to the challenges we face.
For this meeting we want to do:
- To spend some time together discussing issues in Secondary Science and Maths Teaching – we will have some formal discussion but will also have opportunities over lunch and if you can have a drink afterwards.
- To discuss the trend towards on-line education and how Secondary Science and Mathematics teacher preparation should respond to the challenges.
- To produce a paper. It is has been suggested a review of the theory and practice of STEM Education across the seven institutions represented by this group
Together: we can be better educators, learning together and having fun.
