Magdalena Kersting – Visiting Scholar from Denmark

Magdalena’s bio (from website https://www.magdalenakersting.com/)

I came to this work sideways – or rather, from multiple directions at once. I studied mathematical physics, captivated by elegant abstractions of our world, while training in science communication. A PhD in physics education research let me combine my fascination with Einstein’s relativity and my passion to share that sense of wonder. A serendipitous choice!

The research itself, then, transformed my questions: I became fascinated by how our embodied minds grasp such abstract concepts at all. That question pulled me into cognitive science. Now I love connecting the dots at the intersection of physics education and embodied cognition – where questions about the universe and questions about ourselves illuminate each other.

Magdalena was here to co-host the Festival of Embodiment and the ASERA Conference
