The Deakin MSET-Ed Professional Learning Hub
Our researchers work regularly with educators in school classrooms and other settings on research that has a practical impact on educational practice. We have developed a range of evidence-informed professional learning approaches and deliver these through a variety of Professional Learning events and initiatives created through this research. These include short workshops, workshop series, accredited courses, and tailored professional learning partnerships for schools and/or teacher networks. We focus on contemporary understandings of quality learning, and on innovative delivery.
Our current offerings include: Professional learning for teachers of science (and soon Mathematics) via Deakin’s Professional Learning Education Hub (PLEd Hub).
We are pleased to offer free professional learning ‘tasters’ for upper primary and lower secondary science teachers and educators. The professional learning in science is a collaboration with University of California, Berkeley offering ‘Critical thinking in Science’. Please visit the PLEd Hub to find out more and register!
We excited to announce a microcredential for teachers of science is underway and will be available late 2025. The microcredential will be available on the Future Learn platform.
We currently have over 70 secondary teachers from Victorian government schools completing two Graduate Certificates:
The courses are part-time over two years, 2024 – 2025. We are excited to celebrate the graduation of teachers in 2026!
