Mathematics, Science, Environment and Technology Education Research for informed futures.
The Mathematics, Science, Environment and Technology Education Research for informed futures (MSET-Ed) is dedicated to improving the teaching and learning in the STEM and environment disciplines through research into innovative educational practices.
In a time of rapid growth in knowledge, and in its applications and implications, we aim to develop a deeper strategic knowledge of disciplinary and interdisciplinary teaching and learning practices in these crucial areas. We support innovation and change around key contemporary issues in education for the future, and hope to make a difference in the preparedness of both children and professionals alike to engage with and respond to these issues.
Our research programs are:
- Teachers and teaching: Teacher learning and practice, leading school and system change
- Learners and learning: Critical and creative reasoning and learning, modelling
- Innovative, contemporary curriculum: Policy, practice, and partnerships
- Justice and equity: Decolonising practices, gender equity
- Methodological innovation
Under each of these research programs a variety of research projects are ongoing.
