Come along to an exciting evening of science games! Each Deakin University campus will be hosting a Family Science Games night where families can play a range of science educational games. Find the right species in Go Extinct, learn about the body in Organ Attack and build a virus in Virulence. These games and more will be available to play.
All events will run from 6.30pm – 9pm, 2.5 hours in duration. Each event will be facilitated by Deakin staff experienced in science education and the use of games for learning. All children attending will be given a show bag with science games and information about resources that will enable them to pursue their interest in playing or creating science games.
It is hoped that the nights will provide families with the opportunity to play a variety of games relating to different scientific concepts and skills that they may not have previously thought about. The games will provide a fun and exciting avenue for exploring scientific concepts that are normally difficult to relate to and which might be seen as too difficult to understand or not relevant to everyday life.
Community groups and teachers from local schools will be invited to run their own Family Science Games Night and will be supported with resources from Deakin University. Contact is required before the cut off date of Friday, 10th August.
Attendance is FREE but spaces are limited so please book through Eventbrite to secure your place.
